Cynthia Kirkman Romoff

SOPRANO + EDUCATOR + DIRECTOR

An accomplished singer and actress, Cynthia’s past operatic performances include principal roles in Der fliegende Holländer, The Turn of the Screw, Suor Angelica and La Boheme. Cynthia's performed solo concert repertoire includes Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection” and Schoenberg’s landmark String Quartet No. 2, Op. 10 in a special concert with the Spokane String Quartet. She has a particular interest in contemporary and theatrical song repertoire and created “Divas After Dark”, a classical cabaret. 

 

In addition to her performing experience, Cynthia has been teaching, directing, and conducting in the performing arts for over 25 years. Her focus is on creating positive, individual learning experiences for students at all ages and all levels of experience. Additionally, she has worked as an administrator and director with several companies. She recently served as the Director of Educational Services with California Music Studios, recruiting and managing over 250 music teachers throughout Southern California, as well as producing recitals and events for over 800 students. Prior to this she managed the Conservatory at Lausanne Collegiate School, expanding their extracurricular music program to a full K-8 Performing Arts Conservatory, including private lessons, dance, show choir and theater with a year-round performance schedule.

Now based in Spokane, WA, Cynthia is thrilled to continue working with musicians of all ages She teaches Lower School Music at Saint George's School and has maintained a private voice studio as a quarterly faculty member at Eastern Washington University.
